Welcome!

The English language is present in our everyday life, increasing its importance and being essential in some contexts. Perhaps we think that we do not need the language if we are not going to travel to an English speaking country, but it is not like that at all. More and more, we introduce English words in our language (borrowings and calques). Thus, learning English will help us to communicate in a foreign language and to understand words introduced in our own mother tongue. Furthermore, as we know, English is a lingua franca, which means that it is normally adopted when two people do not share the same language and need to communicate.

This blog has been created in order to post interesting articles for my students and to develop certain activities. Here you can find posts, a Useful Links Section where you can find interesting web pages, a Folder where I will upload materials and so on. All of these sections and the blog itself have been created in order to make the teaching-learning process more dynamic and to make it more appealing to students.

To end up my presentation here I let you an inspiring quote which I totally agree with. During my (few, but increasing) years of experience as a teacher I have learnt something really important: even though I am the teacher, the one supposed to teach my students, I always learn something from them, they teach me in some way and I become the learner. What I want to say with this is that even though you are the one possessing more knowledge, techniques and explanations, your students will always have something to teach you. In my opinion, we have to be open to this kind of learning because it is absolutely rewarding and satisfactory.
